Yasmene Harris Receives Sun Conference Honors

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Northwood University (Fla.) senior guard Yasmene Harris (Long Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Prep) was named The Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, released by the conference office on Monday. 

Harris helped guide the Lady Seahawks to a win in the lone contest of the week, a 67-32 victory over Clearwater Christian Saturday. Yasmene was one rebound shy of registering a triple-double against Clearwater Christian, with 26 points, 11 steals and nine rebounds. Harris leads the nation in steals per game with 5.71, along with a team-leading 14.1 points and 3.7 rebounds.

Northwood will host the Step It Up Classic at the Countess de Hoernle Student Life Center this weekend. Florida Memorial and Faulker will play in the opening game at Noon Friday, followed by the Lady Seahawks against Milligan at 2:00 p.m. Northwood will face Faulkner on the second day of the classic.
